What’s Your Promise To The Future?
Leaving a gift in your will is a promise to future generations — a commitment to creating a community now and in the future that employs each person’s strengths and abilities by finding them meaningful and rewarding work. Regardless. You will enjoy peace of mind and satisfaction, knowing that the legacy you leave behind is one that puts the right people in the right positions to create a culture of caring, acceptance, and belonging for working communities.
Imagine having a passion for cooking. You have the drive, the skill, even the education – but your anxiety makes it impossible to work in the chaos of a regular kitchen. That was the case for Mark. Mark had over 25 years of culinary experience when, unfortunately, he had to go on disability leave for his anxiety disorder. He was devastated. He loved working in the kitchen, but the high stress and fast-paced environment made him unable to continue the work that he cherished.
However, Mark didn’t give up. He worked hard to manage his anxiety and has found his way back to his passion. Mark got a job at Krackers Katering, a social enterprise run by Causeway, where he did food prep, made sandwiches, prepared delicious entrees, and assembled platter orders, all in a supportive environment. Donors like you help create more stories like Mark’s each and every day.
“All kitchens are usually high stress, but Krackers is different. It’s hard to get the same kind of understanding and resources necessary [for my disability] somewhere else than what you get here.”
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
The most common way to show your support for our mission through legacy giving is leaving a bequest in your will. You don’t even have to rewrite it, just add “Causeway Foundation” as a beneficiary, which will allow your estate to receive a tax receipt for the full amount given.
No matter how you decide to leave your legacy, we recommend that you discuss your plans with your family and a financial advisor.
