Dear Causeway Community,

It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Causeway’s new Executive Director, Alison Newson.

Alison comes to Causeway from the John Howard Society of Ottawa (JHSO), where she was the Department Director for both Child & Youth Services and Employment & Training Services. She also worked on a number of other programs at JHSO, including the creation of a Front Line Services Human Trafficking Committee, Making the Shift, A Way Home Ottawa, and the Ottawa Coalition to End Human Trafficking. Prior to her time with the John Howard Society, Alison was involved with Victim Services of Ottawa. She is currently a part-time teacher at Algonquin College in the social services department.

“The Board of Directors is excited with the appointment of Alison and we are looking forward to working with her, and all the staff at Causeway in the months ahead,” says Louise Boudreau, President of the Causeway Work Centre Board. “There are many exciting opportunities for our organization in the ways where we can support our clients and we are pleased to be working together as one team toward this goal.”

“This role presents an incredible opportunity to join the Causeway team in the incredible work that they do,” remarks Alison. “I am excited to lead this remarkable agency which creates meaningful differences in the lives of those we serve.  I look forward to working with the Causeway team, board of directors, clients and community partners.”

Please join us in welcoming Alison!
